Making A Purchase:
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into your shopping bag. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept payment in Pounds Sterling only.
We accept Visa credit and MasterCard, Maestro, Solo, Visa Electron, Visa debt cards (e.g. Switch). All payments are made through PayPal, this is a free service to you, the purchaser.
Shipping and Handling:
We can deliver to the anywhere in the world. All UK items are shipped by Royal Mail, Parcel Force or UPS.
Delivery Schedule:
The stock levels are shown on the website together with the number of days the item will take if not currently in stock. Orders recieved before 3pm Mon to Friday will normally be posted the same day for items shown as in stock on the website. If there are delays to your items we will contact you.
If items are delayed in the post to an unacceptable level to you, items must be returned to Big Matt's Menswear for a full refund. If items are lost in the post, the standard Royal Mail or courier compensation procedure will be under taken by the Big Matt's Menswear on your behalf. No refund can be made until this procedure is completed.
Back Orders:
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges for orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20.0% VAT is added.
Credit Card Security:
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption (see Transaction Security for more details). They are not held in clear text on any web site. All payments are made through PayPal.
Transaction Security:
All transaction information passed between merchant sites is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to your servers from our merchant are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing you pass to our merchant servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.
What is 3D Secure?
3D Secure, also know as 'MasterCard SecureCode' and 'Verified by Visa' is the new internet security feature for Maestro, Visa and MasterCard. Basically it is an extra security level designed to eliminate fraud on the net. With 3D Secure enabled on your card even if someone get hold of your card and address details they won't be able to use your card online, without knowing your extra security question.
What do I have to do to use 3D Secure?
Simply contact your card provider (phone or online) and ask them to enable 3D Secure. It will only take a few minutes, but well worth the peace of mind that your cards will now be even safer.

Complaints:
Should you find a problem then please contact us as soon as possible in order that we can rectify the problem. If any item is defective, damaged in transit or otherwise unacceptable then we will make every effort to correct the situation to your complete satisfaction. If you have any complaint then please contact our sales director Tim Dowland in complete confidence by email at sales@bigmatts.com and provide a contact email address or telephone number and we will contact you as soon as possible.
All complaints will be dealt with fairly, in confidence and speedily. We will also ensure that you are kept fully informed about progress.
Big Matt's Menswear conforms with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998 and our parent company is a registered company with the Information Commissioners office.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies. Data collected by this site is used to:
a. Take and fulfil customer orders
b. Administer and enhance the site and service
c. Issue a unique identifier (e.g. customer login)
d. Monitor customer account status beyond that required for individual purchases
e. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes
Price Promise:
Big Matts will refund twice the difference between our normal retail price and any other retailers normal retail price providing the item description, size, colour, material is identical in all respects to the item sold by Big Matts. This does not apply to any items that competitors may have reduced in any sale or special promotion they may be running. Proof of the lower price will need to be sent to Big Matts by email with a link to the website where the exact product is for sale at the lower price. This offer is only applicable to internet sales and excludes goods bought through auction sites such as ebay as these prices are variable, in addition it cannot be used with bricks and mortar shop sales as these are impossible to verify. You must have purchased the item from Big Matts to be eligible for the refund. The price difference award will be credited to your account or we will send you a gift voucher to at least the double difference value at our discretion, this credit can be spent on any item on Big Matts website, this offer has no direct cash value.
Returns Policy:
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive, which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm
Big Matt's is committed to providing excellent customer service. All item sold by Big Matt's come with a 100% Guarantee. We will refund or replace if there is any fault and, in most cases, if the customer finds the garment unsuitable. We must receive returned goods in a sellable condition within 21 days from the date of dispatch. This includes a 14-day "cooling off" period.
Please re-order replacements from our website (www.bigmatts.com) as though it were a new order. We cannot process exchanges. Please do not send any payments with returned goods, make any payments required through the website or by sending a cheque in a separate letter.
Items returned to Big Matt's for refund where goods are faulty will be fully refunded.
Items returned to Big Matt's because the customer ordered the wrong size or for any reason other than those quoted above, will be refunded but the cost of return postage will be borne by the customer. Please ensure you obtain a proof of posting receipt from the Post Office or your courier, in the event of items going missing in the post we cannot refund without proof of posting documentation.
All goods must be returned in sellable condition in their complete original packaging with all original labels and tags attached. We would ask that the customer takes 'every reasonable care' of the goods and packaging prior to any return. For hygiene reasons, underwear, socks, singlets, boxer shorts, briefs, trunks, shorts and swimwear cannot be returned.
If items are delayed in the post to an unacceptable level to you, items must be returned to Big Matt's Menswear for a full refund.
Display packed products (including dress shirts) cannot be refunded if labels, tags, strengtheners, bags or packaging are missing or if the product is badly creased or poorly repackaged. We will not accept goods which have been screwed-up and stuffed into a bag.
Suits cannot be returned if sewn pockets have been opened or sewn-on labels have been removed.
Extra care must be taken with Leather and Designer goods, which should be packaged well to avoid damage in transit. Damaged goods will not be accepted for return.
We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of £5 per item where customers order the same item in multiple sizes with the intention of returning those that do not fit ¦ please contact us prior to ordering for advice about sizes.
Gift certificates cannot be returned.
If you believe that an item is faulty, please contact us before returning the item as it may not always be possible to exchange or refund in the case of a faulty item. If an item develops a fault after you have had it for more than 28 days, then it is unlikely that is can be returned.
Where returned products cannot be accepted by us, they will be returned to the customer upon receipt by us of the cost of return postage. Where customers do not wish items to be returned to them, they will be donated to charity or destroyed within 14 days as appropriate.
Refunds to credit cards will normally be applied within 10 working days of our receipt of returned goods. Customers will be notified of the refund via e-Mail.

Remittance Terms: All items and delivery charges must be paid for before delivery. Ordering: Out of stock items: Any normally stocked items shown out of stock on our web site may be able to be ordered if our manufacturers have any available stock. Clothing is commissioned seasonally and very often when an allocation is used up it is not possible to obtain more. In line with our policy of customer satisfaction we will always make enquiries with manufacturers in order to try to obtain specific items if requested. In these circumstances we will communicate by phone or email and should we manage to secure the goods we will inform you and following payment we will dispatch the goods to you. Please allow extra delivery times for these special orders. Not normally stocked items: If you require a specific item that is not shown on our website at all we will always be happy to try and trace that item for you through our extensive range of suppliers.
