Starting a clothing business is hard work and costs loads and loads of money for your premises, your website, your staff and your stock, but don’t worry, the big man has already made the investment and you can make a nice living using our stock, our staff, our premises and our website without the huge risk of setting it all up yourself. Sound too good to be true – read on.

What will my business be?

You will develop a network of customers, in your immediate area, big men, who you will visit on a regular basis and show them our range of clothing which they will buy from you and we will supply to you. Big men find high street shopping difficult or pointless and really appreciate the personal touch of home shopping.

What Big Matts provide:

We will provide you with samples from across our range of big men’s clothing, and access to our extensive stock for you to sell to your customers.

We will offer full stock and sales training and marketing materials such as business cards and sales leaflets. We will provide you with clothes cases, hangers and fold up hanging rails.

We will give you a full training pack and 1 days face to face training explaining how to run your businesses, including advice on basic bookkeeping and tax returns, record keeping, mileage allowances, allowable expenses, calculating your own tax where applicable. We will offer a service to make up your accounts and complete your tax return for you if required.

We will always be on hand to answer any problems or questions you or your customers may have.

What can I expect to earn from my Big Matts business?

Just like any business you get out what you put in. Big Matts will pay you a generous commission on all sales and we will pay you within 7 days as well. So, the more you sell the more you will make and the more customers you get on board the more you will sell. So the answer is, it’s up to you, this can either be a part time job to earn some extra cash or a thriving business earning you a decent living – you decide.

There is a small financial commitment but you will very soon recoup this from your first few sales. We have structured it this way to make sure only people serious about making a success from their agency apply. You will always have enough stock to easily cover the cost of your initial investment. Big Matts is a serious company and is only interested in serious people, male or female, big or small, young or old, but you do need to be serious about making money.

Am I the right sort of person?

If you are prepared to invest your time and effort into building an ongoing business that will generate you income for years to come you are the right sort of person. If you think it’s going to be a piece of cake, probably not.

These are the things our agents must have:

A vehicle and driving licence
A small sum to invest
A telephone
A computer with internet/email access
A bank account

Our agents will need to have:

A personable manner and a genuine liking of people
The ability to contact a large number of big men through family, friends, personal contacts, recommendation, local advertising and leafleting and direct approach
An interest in clothing
Good organisational skills
An honest approach
A strong desire to make money and a can do attitude

What you don’t need to have:

Lots of money
Loads of formal qualifications
Any experience in clothing retailing
